Pet Skin & Pet Coat Care Unleashed

The most common types of skin conditions are dermatitis, pyodermand eczema, or conditions simply non-specific skin allergies, or overheating, which is very common in some pet breeds.

The symptoms are identified by inflamed hot skin, constant itching, redness on the belly and armpits where the fur is dense.  These skin problems can also result in hair loss and irritations. It is very important to monitor the causes in order to treat the problem at hand.

Allergies can also result in skin irritations, it is a good idea to look for fleas, ticks, a
new diet, a change in shampoo products, change in environment, climate and so on.  It is also known that dogs seem to have more food allergies that cats and in these cases changing to a natural feeding regimen to reduce the amount of additives have proven helpful with many pet owners. It is also important to look for parasites on the skin, particularly mange mites which will need veterinary treatment.

It is very important to focus on the all around look of your pet's coat.  for instance a dull, thin dry or scruffy coat may be the first outward sign of poor general health and overall condition should be monitored.  Any changes in texture and overall look can be a sign of some problem. If you pet coat is not what it use to be, locate the problem and find a remedy.
