American Shorthair

The American Shorthair is a strongly built, well-balanced, symmetrical cat.  It has much power, endurance, and agility. It is medium to large with proportions slightly longer than tall.  The Body is solid, muscular and very powerful.  The chest, shoulders and hindquarters are well-developed.  The legs are heavily muscled and of medium length.  The paws are firm, round and full with thick pads.
The head is normally large and full.  Although the jaws are very strong, the expression is sweet.  Has a continuous curve from profile that runs from the top of the head down to the neck.  The muzzle is square and nose medium shaped in proportion width and lengthwise.
Ears are rounded at tips and medium size while the eyes are large and wide with the shape of an almond.  Space between the eyes normally matches the size of one eye.  Color depends on the color of the coat.  The tail is thick at the base, yet blunt on the end and medium length.  Coat is thick, even, hard & dense.  Although it is short, these characteristics are great to protect it from moisture and cold.
Patterns can range from single, bi-color, shaded and tabby patterns.  With colors ranging from black, blue, red, white, smoke, tortoiseshell, cream &  brown.

Balinese
The Balinese is very slender, with long tapering lines, extremely agile, but strong and muscular. However, because of the longer coat, the lines appear to be softer and less extreme.  The body is medium in size, but very long and graceful.  The neck is long and slender as well as the shoulders and hips forming a sleek long line.  The tail is long and thin as well and tapered to a fine point.
The head, chin & jaw  is medium size with good proportion to the body.  The skull is flat with a wedge shaped muzzle.  The nose is long and straight with no break continuing from the forehead.  Ears are very large.  They are wide at the base and pointed at the tip.  The medium sized, almond-shaped eyes slant towards the nose and line up with the ears.  Colors are normally deep vivid blue.
With dainty oval shaped paws, the legs of the Balinese are slim and long.  The hind legs are higher than the front.
Medium length coat is very silky with a velvety undercoat and the body color is even sometimes with shading.  Mask will cover the whole face and whisker pads.

Bombay
The Bombay is a medium-sized, well-balanced cat with a jet black coat, gold to copper eyes, and sweet facial expressions.  The body is medium size & muscular; neither compact nor lanky.  
The head is rounded with no sharp angles; face full with considerable space between the eyes.  The Bombay's head is broad, rounded with a well-developed muzzle.  The ears are medium in size and set well apart with a slight tilt forward.  They are  broad at base and slightly rounded at the tips.  The eyes are set far apart & rounded with colors ranging from gold to copper.  Legs are in proportion to body.    
The coat is fine and short with a satin like texture.  Tail is medium length.

Egyptian Mau
The Egyptian's is an active, colorful cat of medium size with well-developed muscles.  The body is medium sized and  long and graceful.   The head is slightly rounded and of medium length; not full-cheeked and  neither short nor pointed.  
The ears are medium to large and moderately pointed.  The are broad at base with ample space between ears.  The eyes are very large and alert with an almond-shape and slight slant toward ears. Eye color is light green.  
Hind legs are proportionately longer with small oval, dainty paws.  The tail is Medium length with a slight taper.  The coat is medium length and shiny.   Smoke color hair is dense, silky and fine. Comes in shades of silver, bronze and smoke.

Himalayan
The ideal Himalayan is a heavily boned, well-balanced cat with a sweet expression and soft, round lines.  They are Large to medium-size with good muscle tone.  The head is round and massive with great breadth of skull; round face with round underlying bone structure; nose short, snub, and broad with break centered between eyes; cheeks full; jaws broad and powerful; chin full, well developed, and firmly rounded.   
Small ears, round-tipped, tilted forward, not unduly open at base; set far apart and low on head.  The eyes Large, round, and full; set level and far apart with a deep vivid blue color.  
Legs short, thick, and strong; forelegs straight; paws large, round, and firm.  Short tail in proportion to body length.  
Long and thick coat standing off from body; fine texture; glossy; full of life; long all over body, including shoulders; ruff immense; deep frill between front legs; ear and toe tufts long; brush very full.  All colors pointed pattern only: chocolate, seal, lilac, tortie, blue-cream, chocolate-tortie, blue, flame, cream, lilac-cream, seal lynx, tortie lynx, blue-cream lynx, chocolate lynx, blue lynx, flame lynx, cream lynx, lilac lynx, chocolate-tortie.

Korat
A silver-blue cat with a heavy silver sheen, medium-sized, hard-bodied, and muscular.  Neither compact nor svelte body; torso distinctive, broad-chested with good space between forelegs; muscular, subtle, with feeling of hard-coiled spring power and unexpected weight; back carried in a curve.  
Heart-shaped head with breadth between and across eyes; sides of face gently curve down to chin to complete heart shape; slight stop between forehead and nose; chin and jaw strong and well developed, neither overly squared nor sharply pointed.   
Large with rounded tips ears flared at base; set high on head.  Large and luminous eyes that are wide open and oversized for face. Color luminous green preferred, amber cast acceptable.  
Legs well proportioned to body; front legs slightly shorter than hind legs; paws oval.  Medium length tail; heavier at base; tapering to rounded tip; nonvisible kink permitted.  Single; short; glossy; fine; coat that lies close to body.  Coat color is silver-blue all over; tipped with silver; silver should be sufficient to produce silver halo effect.

Maine Coon
The Maine Coon is solid, rugged, and can endure a harsh climate. Particularly distinctive is its smooth, shaggy coat.  Medium to large body that is muscular; broad-chested; body should be long to create a well-balanced rectangular appearance.  Medium width and length for the head; square muzzle and high cheekbones; chin firm; nose medium long, slightly concave in profile.  
Large; well tufted ears that are wide at base, tapering to appear pointed; set high and well apart.  Large; wide set eyes; slightly oblique setting with slant toward outer base of ear. Color should be shades of green, gold, or copper, but blue and odd-colored eyes are acceptable in white cats.  
Legs substantial, wide set, of medium length; paws round, large, well tufted.  Long tail that is wide at base, and tapering; fur long and flowing.  Heavy and shaggy coat that is silky with coat falling smoothly; shorter on shoulders and longer on stomach and britches; frontal ruff desirable.  All colors and patterns except for the pointed colors and pattern that would indicate hybridization.

Manx
The overall impression of the Manx is that of roundness. It should be surprisingly heavy when lifted.  Solidly muscled, compact, well-balanced, medium-sized with sturdy bone structure; stout appearance with broad chest.  Round head with prominent cheeks; in profile, head is medium in length with gentle dip from forehead to nose; well-developed muzzle; strong chin; definite whisker break with large, round whisker pads.  
Medium size ears that are wide at base, rounded tip & widely spaced.  Large, round, and full eyes set at slight angle toward nose. Color depends upon coat color.  Legs heavily boned; forelegs short and set well apart; hind legs much longer than forelegs with heavy, muscular thighs; paws neat and round.  
The double coat is short and dense with well-padded quality due to longer, open outer coat and close cottony undercoat; texture of guard hairs somewhat hard; appearance is glossy; a softer coat may occur in whites and dilute colors.  Any color except those indicating hybridization resulting in the colors chocolate, lavender, the Himalayan pattern, or these combinations with white.

Norwegian Forest Cat
The Norwegian Forest Cat is a sturdy cat with a distinguishing double coat and easily recognizable body shape. It is slow to develop, reaching full maturity at about five years of age.  Solidly muscled and well-balanced; moderate length; substantial bone structure; powerful appearance, Triangle shaped head; nose straight from brow ridge to tip of nose without break; chin firm and gently rounded in profile; muzzle part of the straight line extending toward the base of the ear without pronounced whisker pads and without pinch.  
Medium to large ears that are rounded at tips; broad at base; set as much on the side as on top of the head.  Large, almond-shaped; well-opened eyes; set at slight angle with outer corner higher than inner. Color should be shade of green, gold, or green-gold; white cats may have blue or odd eyes.  Medium; hind legs longer than front legs, making the rump higher than the shoulders; thighs muscled; lower legs substantial; paws large, round, and firm.  Long and bushy tail that is broader at base.  
Double coat consists of dense undercoat covered by long, glossy, and smooth water-resistant guard hairs; frontal ruff; collar at neck; side mutton chops; britches on hind legs; softer coats permitted in shaded, solid, and bicolor cats.  All colors and patterns except those indicating hybridization resulting in chocolate, lilac, the Himalayan pattern, or these combinations with white.

Persian
The Persian is a heavily boned, well-balanced cat with a sweet expression and soft, round lines.  Large to medium-sized body; low on the legs; broad and deep through the chest; equally massive across shoulders and rump, with well-rounded midsection and level back; good muscle tone.  
Round and massive head with great breadth of skull; round face with round underlying bone structure; nose short, snub, and broad with break centered between eyes; cheeks full; jaws broad and powerful; chin full, well-developed, and firmly rounded.  
Small, round tipped ears that tilted forward, open at base; set far apart and low on head.   Large, round, and full eyes; set level and far apart. Color depends upon coat color.  Legs short, thick, and strong; forelegs straight; paws large, round, and firm.  
The tail is short in proportion to body length.  Long and thick coat standing off from body; fine texture, glossy, full of life; long all over body, including shoulders; tabby, solid, multi-color, bicolor, silver and golden, shaded and smoke, and Himalayan colors are found.

Ragdoll

The ideal Ragdoll grows to be large and heavy. Color maturity achieved in two years; weight and size is not in four. Overall impression is of subdued power.  Large, long, powerful, and muscular body with a full chest.  Bone structure strong and substantial; rump slightly higher than shoulders; hindquarters heavier; surprising weight for size.  
Broad medium size head; muzzle round and medium length; chin well-developed; medium break between eyes.  Medium-sized ears that are broad at base; slight forward tilt; rounded tips.  Oval, large, moderately wide set eyes. Color blue.  Legs substantial and medium length; medium heavy musculature; hind legs slightly heavier. Long tail that is medium at base with slight taper; in proportion to body.  Semi-long coat that is plush and silky.  Solid or bicolor divisions. (Seal point, chocolate point, blue point,  and lilac point).

Siamese
The Siamese is a medium-sized, svelte, refined cat with long tapering lines.  Graceful, long body, a distinctive combination of fine bones and firm muscles.  Long tapering head; medium sized; no break at whiskers; skull flat; muzzle fine and wedge-shaped; chin and jaw medium; nose long and straight, no break.  
Strikingly large ears, pointed, wide at base.   Almond-shaped eyes; medium size; slanted toward nose in harmony with lines of wedge and ear. Color deep vivid blue.  Legs long and slim; hind legs higher than front; paws dainty, small, and oval.  Long, thin, tapering tail.  Short, fine-textured, glossy coat.  Himalayan pattern in seal, chocolate, blue and lilac point.

Siberian
The Siberian is a large, strong cat that takes approximately five years to mature. muscles are mighty, outstanding, and powerful.  Moderately long body, substantial; back slightly curved or arched; chest well-rounded; musculature substantial.  
Broad head with gentle rounded contours; size medium; muzzle rounded; moderately long; top of head flat; forehead slightly curved; cheeks not pronounced; whiskers long.  Medium large ears that are wide at base with rounded tips; wide set; tilted forward  Large; almost round; wide set eyes. Color has no relationship to coat color.  Legs moderately long; hind legs slightly longer than front.  Tail is wide at base, blunt at tip; length medium  The coat length moderately long to long.  All colors and patterns with the exception of pointed colors.

Turkish Van
The Turkish Van is a solidly built, semi-long haired cat that takes three to five years to reach full maturity.  Moderately long body, sturdy, broad, muscular, and deep-chested; shoulders should be at least as broad as the head, and should flow into well-rounded ribcage and then into muscular hip and pelvic area.  
Substantially broad head with gentle contours and medium-length nose to harmonize with large muscular body; prominent cheekbones; nose has slight dip below eye level; firm chin; rounded muzzle  Moderately large to large ears; set fairly high and well apart; tips slightly rounded; insides well feathered.  Moderately large eyes that are rounded; set at slant. Color amber, blue, and odd-eyed.   
Legs moderately long and muscular; paws moderately large and rounded.  Long but in proportion to body, the tail has a  brush appearance.  Semi-long with cashmere-like texture; the coat is soft to the roots with no trace of undercoat.  Solid and white, tabby and white, particolor and white; random markings not to detract from Van pattern, making cat appear bicolor; facial blaze desirable; any color acceptable except evidence of hybridization with the Himalayan pattern.
